SOMETHING FOR ALMOST EVERYONE

There are probably as many reasons for investing in the Lakeside area as there are people. You’ll find something for just about everyone’s plans. Because of our own experiences when moving here (and since that time), we understand possible apprehensions you may have. We can help you get to know the area, relate our own positive experiences, and hopefully alleviate any doubts you may have.

LET US INTRODUCE OURSELVES

We have two grown children and four grandchildren, and moved to Mexico from Canada in 1998 when we retired from banking. Part of our motivation was the weather and part was economic. Soon we were into real estate, and in 2002 joined the Coldwell Banker Chapala Realty team.

Besides the great weather, we love the slower lifestyle and the wonderfully friendly people here. Working in real estate gives us a chance to meet even more new people, and we enjoy helping to close a sale to everyone’s satisfaction.

We find that people often expect one of two extremes: either that things will be just the same here as north of the border, or that life is overly simplistic and property and everything else will be “dirt-cheap.” Of course, neither is true. Generally, nothing is extreme here. You do need a bit of patience, because things don’t move as rapidly as what you may be used to.

Also people think they must rent before they buy, and fear they can’t receive good medical attention here. Those aren’t true, either. A good agent will help you find something right for your needs, whether you’re renting or buying.

As for medical care, the majority of doctors and dentists speak English and are well-trained. They can also refer you to specialists in Guadalajara, if needed, where there are excellent hospitals and clinics.
